Mileage guage question

How do you read the mileage guage for instance if it says 86000 on it does that mean 86000 miles or 186000 miles.

How many numbers are on it?

My 92 only shows 5 numbers, so instead of showing 238,400 it shows 38,400.

Does yours have 5 or 6?

Are you the first owner?
Did the odometer ever roll? (ex, going from 99,999 to 00000)

no I'm not the first so its hard to tell. I was just wandering how you would tell.

Mechanically, this gauge (the digits with the 9's) is showing 99,999.9 miles.
Each time it went over I put a sticker in front of it. The pic was taken when the truck broke 300k miles.
