Glad you are coming Rick!!!

Uh, er... that would be YOU spotting us if the past is any indication!!! :D ;)

(you spotted me on an AZ run and last year in Moab)

I hope to do at least one of the trails with you and Ralph. :salute:

My pleasure. I just can’t seem to spot myself. In Truckhaven I spotted myself right off the trail.

I hope Gerald and Ashlix can make it. We need Ivan the Terrible as radio man.

We'll be arriving Thusday night and leaving Monday. That gives us Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 3 full days.:bounce:

Just made reservations. Sucks i may have an internship this summer so i may have to cancel. :(

I can smell the burning clutch, engines racing, and the spotters doing their thing. :biggthump

hehehe - I can hear the cb chatter allready.
"hey, back up that steep hill so i can get a better picture...":D

How about, GO LEFT, LEFT, LEFT.......NO NO YOUR OTHER LEFT:eek:

Those of you who have been to Moab before might remember the historic Dewey Bridge which is at the TOTW trailhead. It is no longer as of yesterday:

A 7-year-old boy playing with matches ignited a brush fire that destroyed the historic Old Dewey Bridge on Sunday, according to a news release this morning from the Grand County Sheriff’s Department.
The fire was started on the riverbank at the BLM camping and boat ramp area on the Colorado River at milepost 30 on Utah Highway 128.
No one was injured in the fire. Charges are pending.
More information coming on GJSentinel.com when it’s available.

That sucks. :(

That's just sad:( If I remember correctly the bridge had been restored within the last decade or so.

i wont have nearly enough work done by then...

put me on the list for 2009. and is there any other explorers on the east coast willing to make the journey out there next year?

Me, DEFINITELY next year ;) I'm planning on using my two week vacation time to take a nice, slow journey out to Moab and back, hopefully on a trailer but I'll drive my truck if I have to :D

id be willing to drive out there, id probably spend more money on gas trying to haul it. you can put me down for a definite next year.

Brian, that's a huge bummer... and such a loss. I won't even get started with the 'Where the hell were the parents??!!' :censored:
:fire:
:frustrate:

On the note TOTW, I had a few inquiries as to if my photo was photoshopped or otherwise altered (at the top where you guided me out in 06) someone posted a photo of mine on a sporttrac site. I had to assure them that it is completely real and true to life and that it is a hugely famous spot for wheeler's to take photos. Thanks again.

....and get married on :D

We appreciate the thoughts but I seriously doubt that we'll make it out to Moab this year, especially if gas really gets up to around $4/gallon like is predicted - that's over a thousand bucks just for gas and doesn't include lodging/breakage/etc/etc/etc. If I can make a big trip it will be Colorado for Labor Day.

:( I'm gonna miss it; Moab is almost a religious experience for me. I'll tell Ivan he will be missed - he'll like hearing that he was remembered  Thanks guys :)

That's just sad:( If I remember correctly the bridge had been restored within the last decade or so.

It was restored in 2000 and was recently repainted (some time late last year). I read in one of the posts on Colorado4x4.org that they use to actually light the underside of it on fire to char the wood in order to prevent it from burnnig as easily. Guess it didn't work! :(

Just an FYI, there are still possible charges pending. The Feds were here in town today to interview the family.

I hate to say it, but I'm definitely out for this run and all runs for the next 2-6 months.:fire::fire::fire::fire:

I just got released for the hospital about 40 minutes ago with a shattered ankle. Last night about 7pm I was coming home from Von's on my bike and got nailed by E150 extended van. Not sure what all is damaged on the Harley, but I do know it needs a new tank and probably most of the front-end. Hopefully the frame isn't FUBAR'd.

On a gas note: 3.60 a gal. here in Rifle, CO. this week and going up.

Yeah. The funny part is that it was a church van that said "Jesus Christ is Lord, Not a Swear Word" on the side of it.
