How do you get trail only rigs around? My brother in laws bronco is not registered due to the fact it is not street legal. Can you get to the trails from the Canyonlands campground, or will he have to trailer it around to different trail heads.

If it is not licensed it will have to be trailered to the trail heads. To get to the trail heads require driving through the town and some highway, distance depending on which ones. Most trailheads have room for trailer parking, some charge a parking fee. Also the trails do not end in the same place so he would have to hitch a ride back to his tow rig with someone and then go back and pick up his bronco.

The last time I ran Kane Creek it had a couple of very difficult ledges that would indeed be way too much for 32" tires and no locker. Trails change yearly and those sections may have been smoothed out, but I've noted over the years that most of the trails get tougher, not easier. If you try this one make sure a capable rig leads that can drag lesser ones up one or two of those obstacles if need be. It is a great run for anyone that enjoys river crossings; there's dozens on that trail.

I would agree with GJarrett. The last time I ran Kane Creek, a couple years ago, it was much more difficult than Wells describes in his book. Those last couple of ledges were pretty difficult for me, unlocked on 33's at the time, and most of the trail had been washed out with the spring run off. It took our small group a good 8 hours to complete, but was a lot of fun. The dugway at the end is very exciting. I wouldn't mind trying this trail again.

Put me down for Modified.

I ought to be able to make a Friday afternoon run. I'll either be leaving Thurs evening or early Friday morning.

I probably won't be there until around o-dark hundred Saturday.

Heck, just wake me up when you all meet up at City Market!

Just park near the Canyonland Campgrounds walk in, tell me to scoot over, and I'll kick you in the morning:D

Sorry, I haven't been to a Moab run but I'm thinking we might need to put some sort of a calendar together for who's showing up where, staying where, and when trail runs start...from where.

Only camping sites I've seen mentioned in the last 8 pages are
William's Bottom Campground

Canyonlands

I pretty much am open for anything, we might even hotel it. I would however like to stay as close to FAKRWEE as possible. We typically enjoy some ****tails when the sun goes down for those interested in that type of a lifestyle. Tom-where are you staying?

I'm thinking it would be interesting to see

1. Friday Morning run
2. Friday Afternoon run (like 2-3:00?)
3. Saturday Run
4. Sunday Run

It is pretty typical to meet at the City Market around 8-8:30. From there, divide into groups and head out to the trails at 9:00 AM.

It would be cool to have the trails planned out already though.

I plan to be at the Canyonlands Campground Thursday through Sunday night.

Just made the reservations:D

Plan on arriving early afternoon Thursday. No wheeling that day though, I am going to relax, maybe even go swimming

I will be @ the Super8 or Holiday Inn Express pulling in Thursday night. Trail ready Fri A.M. and ready for ****tails at any time during the day. Although I like to wait until after breakfast:D

I'm gonna double check with my boss cause I'm already taking off the 13th -18th of June for a trip to Lake Powell. But I have the PTO avalable and it shouldn't be a problem. Any tents spots at canyonlands open for my little one man tent?

WT; So are you off the list for staying at the spot I reserved at Canyonlands? IF so, let me know cuz I think I have some people that'll want the spot with us. If not you still have a spot, just let me know.

Douglas,
Sorry I thought you gave those spots away already, my dad still has not said for sure if he is flying in..
I will get you an answer this week.
Chad

Dude, no immediate rush... I just wanted to make sure noone was hard-up for a spot if I had room; it looks like it's JJarhead, Me+ 1 or 2 in my tent, Jeff, and Mike... and you if you want. The reserv's for 6 (or so ;)) with at least 2 parking spots right at it + any addt'l in overflow or the immediate vicinity (as it usually turns out). Canyonlands was only worried about the amount of tents that could fit, but 2 years ago we put a large 4man (mine), a 2man, and a 1 man bivvy with no problem under the covered area. I might see tomorrow if they can split my spot and get the adjacent one if needed. It might be nice to have a large hangout pad...

Mike are you up for another slideshow around the fire?! :D

Don't forget meeeeeeeeee

Tim
