I was almost ready to confirm my plans and then the company I work for bought a couple of new stores and so there is a big shake up going on and everyone is getting transfered all over the place and the way it looks it'll be mid march before I will even have a chance of getting my vacation approved:(

Im in for super-stock, and my brother in law is possibly coming with an extreme 71' bronco

I'm a Wanna be Big Dawg!

Brian and Douglas, I've actually never done Gemini Bridges yet and wouldn't mind mabey hitting it up Friday afternoon once Brian gets to town.

Douglas, im up for doing Gemini Bridges and Bull Canyon (below the bridges) + more if we make it a full day trip. I usually do Gemini Friday afternoon when I get there. I was also thinking about doing Elephant hill this year, I dont think it has been done the past few Moab trips. Also as I mentioned earlier in this thread I would like to try the mountain passes again since it is 2 weeks later this year. In a previous attempt we got stopped by 3' of snow blocking the trail.

Cool!! Sounds great to me Brian  And Mike; that'll rock if you want to do them (I thought you'd done them all already :p: :D). I'll totally plan on doing those Fri.

That would work for me. I am guessing I would be ready to do it around 3 on Friday. If time, Bull Canyon is fun too- it goes below the bridges and has sand dunes, slickrock, dry washes with various size rocks scattered around and a water crossing or 2.

Here is a link to traildamage's write up on Kane creek.www.traildamage.com kane creek

I think it is the trail where the magazines do there vehicle of the year testing but don't know for sure. it looks like a fun trail.

My rig is about as capable as Douglas' sport trak. If I trailer mine down I may even go on rougher trails.

Tim

Your's is probably more capable if for nothing else, the wheelbase :D; I might have Kane Creek confused with Flat Iron Mesa (which when Gerald ran it last year, he heavily implied that it would've been really difficult for someone set up like me). I know Traildamage rates them at a 5 / 7, I'm just a real conservative wheeler so I'm not always the limiting factor of a group, ;) :D .

Who is going to be at Moab Friday for some trails? I may leave earlier if there are some people interestedin Friday?

Well it looks like Brian, Mike and I will definately be there by Fri. (early) to run to run Gemini Bridges and Bull Cyn Fri afternoon (I'm planning on being in Moab on Thurs evening).

The last time I ran Kane Creek it had a couple of very difficult ledges that would indeed be way too much for 32" tires and no locker. Trails change yearly and those sections may have been smoothed out, but I've noted over the years that most of the trails get tougher, not easier. If you try this one make sure a capable rig leads that can drag lesser ones up one or two of those obstacles if need be. It is a great run for anyone that enjoys river crossings; there's dozens on that trail.

I am definitley in!! I ran with the Modifieds last year on Fins and Things, and I think i held my own. definitely not afraid to drag bottom. I plan on being in Moab Friday morning around 10 AM.:salute:

I'm up for about any trail (within my ability). I've only done Klondike Bluffs and Fins 'N' Things. Anybody interested in doing Top of the World?

Top of the World???? I don't remember this one.:salute:

Top of the World may be one of the more famous trails... I don't think anyone (from the group) ran it last year. You can get photos there that are downright obscene in how crazy they are!!! It's an all day trail, it's a long trip (devoid of any shade as most are :D so it's a long day in the heat).

Thanks for the insight on Kane Creek, Gerald. :)

Ok so it looks like I will be in Moab Fri A.M. now! If I leave early Wednesday A.M I should hopefully make it to Moab Thurs night. Douglas when you heading out? You have about 12hrs on me...

I am now reconsidering my big dawg status as I am somewhat conservative on trial ratings. So I should maybe stick with modified runs;)

I will be in Moab late Thurs evening (lest something change with my buddies who are riding in with me).

Chad, he's very good at it, but don't let mrboyle show you up with his stockish 4 door on 31s. :D

mrboyle did a great job last year leading fins and things, I just have a long drive home so I am somewhat leary of some obstacles..
