Here's some interesting before and after shots:

I found these old pics while I was looking through my families slides. My dad says they were taken around 1972.

The two new shots are my brother and I doing the same trail in 2002.

Interesting. I remember in the early '80's my dad tried to take us into elephant hill in our '75 K5 Blazer. Had trouble climbing the slickrock, so we didn't get very far. I still remeber trying though, and keep thinking that I need to go back and try again now that I'm grown up.

That IS really cool. It does seem that tread lightly is slowing the destruction. But there is still a noticeable difference in the amount of foliage. But not bad for 30 years. And you never know what's to blame.

Also, when did you move to Utah??? Is it temporary? I see you're still signed up for Truckhaven 2002, though!

I found the old pics, and just went and found new pics that happened to match very well. I did crop the new pics to match the old better.

I moved to Utah a couple months ago to get back to school (BYU). It is temprorary. . .for 3 or so years. Yes, I'm hoping to make it to T-haven, but I have yet to see if I can get off work.

Sweet! Elephant Hill is my favorite. My parents took me there when I was 3 weeks old. Went many more times in their Land Cruiser, but then I got my truck. Hee hee hee.
