I say come see what it can do if after the first day you cant hang with the stockers then ride along with some one else, there are lots of us with 4 doors and only 1 or 2 people so come on!!!

Gerald

Garald you could of came into Salt Lake one day before the Moab trip and we could have installed that locker for you.

swak6287,
There are lots of trails you can go on, Just make sure that you have tow points on the front and back so we can strap you over if need be. If that proves to be too much, then there's plenty of us that would let you ride along, so you wouldn't be left out of anything. You also need skidplates, don't come without those or a spare.

I know the topic has been brought up before, but if anyone from eastern Colorado that is heading through Grand Junction on Thursday would like to meet up and caravan (or if I could join your's) let me know what time you plan to go through and where you might want to meet. Also, I will be towing my X out to Moab on my Dad's flatbed, and providing mine survives (knock on wood), if anyone in Colorado runs into any unseen problems and can't drive their X home we (my Dad and I) could help get you at least back to Grand Junction if not home.

mrboyle I am still kinda undecided which way I am going to go I will try to decide soon and let you know!

I'll be heading through grand junction but haven't yet decided what day I will be heading out. it's going to depend on how much time I am able to get off work, etc.

wow...1010 miles for 1 weekend. that is pretty far. hhmmm.... what if i drive really really fast for 1010 miles... u think the explorer will last that far of a journey? hahaha. oh well, maybe next time. would love to go though... dod-garnett.

Hey I am driving that far for one weeken, Then driving from there to Phoenix for 1 week, Then driving back to Dallas. Let me know if you change your mind and want to Caravan. I will be leaving early May 30th. I live in Dallas, Tx so you are only about 15 miles from me.

While we're all on the subject of caravan's....I don't wanna drive by myself either!!! I know there's other Denver area people goin, who wants to let me follow?

Okay, I updated my project thread. I am having installed right now my 5.13 gearing front and back. Also went w/ the full Detroit Carrier in the rear and Lock rite up front. Those 5.13's should carry me pretty well through Moab. What do you guys think? Should be really low gearing :bounce:

Everyone ready for maob 1 month away :D I am stocked.

What does everyone have to get done to be ready. I have to fill front diff with gear oil, change the oil, and hope I put the front together right last time i took it apart  Also am going to try to throw some half doors together real quick cause it is going to be a warm drive with no ac  I cant wait.

Matt

Um, I have to lift it, put gears and a locker in there, put manual hubs on there, tow hooks, and do a couple other things that aren't as big. I'll prolly check all the fluids before i go as well....

I have to pull the top end of my motor, get a valve job, new seals, rockershafts, pushrods and a radiator...

Picking up the Pumpkin in a few minutes though!

Jared - Wow that sounds like a lot of work. Is school out for you yet? Good luck! If you complete all that work you will be wheelin a different beast this next time we see you.

I currently have my step bars off. I'm repainting them and looking at raising them an inch. I just ordered a front skid plate today. And I might get a Powertrax No-slip installed in the front diff before Moab.

Cya,
John

well, I have to get my powertrax no slip and 4.88's installed, trackbar cut down, trackbar mount made, front axle mounted and assembled with ox, hubs, new brakes and 4.88's, mount the coilovers, make a steering linkage, get a new driveshaft ujoint, and its been sitting a while so I'll have to jump the battery and change the fluids. I may need some limiting straps in the front until I can get a new transmission crossmember made, I think my current one may interfere with the driveshaft at full droop.

Just had my windshield replaced so I can now see again.
Coming up before Moab is - 2" bl, 33" tires, brake job and fluid change.

That should do it. :bounce:

check fluids, change oil, get gas, and then fix anything that breaks between now and then if I keep running "Carnage Canyon". You know we have a month of wheeling before Moab.
