I'm looking to get the front balljoints done. I had planned to stay Motorcraft, but I haven't found upper balljoints from Motorcraft, just the whole control arm.

Rockauto does list Moog though. I thought Moog was a decent brand, but I can't remember in recent years. Go with Moog upper and lower or Motorcraft lower balljoint and upper control arm? Thoughts, opinions, suggestions?

Thanks!

Personally, I don't use Moog parts for anything important. The metal around the ball joint on the upper control arm is quite thin. I think it would be difficult to press out the old ball joint and press in a new one, especially if there is any rust or other deterioration of the metal. On one of mine, the upper control arm was so rusted that the ball joint almost came completely out of the arm. Pressing in a new ball joint wasn't an option.

Others may have a different opinion but I would replace the entire upper control arm with the ball joint included. Even the Motorcraft part only runs about $90. This is more than the ~$25 for just the ball joint but I am generally willing to pay to avoid massive headaches and I also use the best quality parts for something as important as a suspension. I'm generally saving hundreds by doing the work myself so I factor that into the cost of the parts.
