Recently purchased a 2013 Ford Explorer Limited and noticed that the moonroof has some Chips around the weather stripping, is this a major concern? Will there be any long term or short term affects? Perhaps, leaking into the interior of the explorer? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

Welcome to the Forum.
As long as it is providing a tight seal you should be okay. Difficult to tell without actually seeing it and not sure why it is 'chipped' in the first place. If the weather stripping appears dried out you could always try using a conditioner on it made for such items. Have you checked the spare tire well for signs of dampness? There is a thread on 'Water Leaks' that points out that some members have had water pooling there due to leaks mainly in the roof area. In reading your post again, are the chips are in the roof body itself?

I believe it was caused from Hail Damage, the roof of the explorer had to repaired for Hail damage along with the hood. The Chips are in the Black strip around the outside of the Moonroof. It appears to be sealed quite well still.
