OK, this is different. I replaced my front pads with Raybestos SuperStops, and turned the rotors. I sprayed the backs of the pads with Berryman Disc Brake Quiet. After buttoning it up, I find that the brakes squeak when they're NOT applied - pretty much all the time. As soon as I apply the brakes, regardless of pressure, the squeak stops. The brakes are totally quiet when braking.

Any ideas? I've used these pads on a number of other vehicles, but I'm ready to pitch 'em and go back to factory.

Thanks!

Pete

How about a master cylinder that's caked up in brake dust? Oh.....some pads require some time to break-in.....although i don't know for sure if this is a regular break-in symptom. Bet they'll tell you that when you bring it in.

Thanks for the input, guys. Stephen - looks like someone responding to your thread has a similar problem to mine. I'll pull the pins and check them out, but I'm certain I greased them when I replaced the pads. BTW, I also turned the rotors at that time.

Thanks again,

Pete

Sta-Lube Synthetic Brake Caliper Grease. I almost included this in the last reply; should've figured someone would point this out!

Thanks again,

Pete
