First off i would like to say thank you for all the
speedy responses.

Once again i own a 99 AWD Eddie Bauer.

Would it be best for me to get shackles and add a leaf?
or just one of the two?

Should I get tires after these have been installed or
does it matter?

Torsion twist?

Any opinions and links to these products would be
appreciated, thanks again

Personally, I would get an add-a-leaf. Adding a leaf is a better load-bearing thing to raise it than messing with shackles. That's not to say shackles won't do the trick either, it's just that if it were me, I would add-a-leaf.

You know, it's interesting, because I see lots of 1995 and newer explorers with the rear-end sag problem. I don't see as many 91-94's with this problem. Maybe they have had to replace or adjust theirs already.

You can get a torsion twist lift for your 98. It will give you a little xtra clearance for big tires. I have no experience with a torision twist, but I think I have heard that it's not too difficult to have done, or do yourself.

Kim:

I found this incredible website in July when I bought my '97 Sport. The replies to questions are always SPEEDY and the folks here are wonderfully knowledgable.

Good luck on your truck and have fun with those skis.

Oh, yeah, welcome

Kim, it would depend on what you are trying to accomplish. Add-a-leaf will raise and stiffen your rear, which I like, but some people don't. Shackles will only raise. Torsion bar twisting will raise and stiffen.

Are you trying to put on larger tires?

Personally, I would use and add-a-leaf and twist the torsion bars, then put on 31" tires.

Good luck....
