Hi All,
I'm pretty much a newbie here, but I've had a lot of luck with the past posts and such. This one I just can't get a hold of.
I have a 2000 EB. It first started not working a couple weeks ago. When the weather got bad, I had the wife take it into the local dealership, and they told me it needed a new pump motor. I put a new (Napa) motor in for $20, and it worked like a champ. My wife used it the following day and it worked fine too. The *next* day, it didn't... and hasn't since. Now I'm stumped. I 'spose I could have a bad pump, and I could probably put a new one in it again. Is there an easy way to test them to see if they are working?
I've cleaned up the connector, and I think I checked the right fuse (can anyone tell me the right one for sure??). Is there anything I'm missing? I wouldn't think it's the stalk as it worked fine when I first installed the new pump.
Any help?

Do you have a test light or a multi-meter?

Its really easy to test the wiring at the pump itself to make sure the pump is being told to turn on and off with the switch.

Its very common for the wiring pins on the washer pump motor to get corroded and not make good contact, the solution for me was to use a small diamind round file and clean them out, then an emery board on the pump pins, use die-electric grease in the plug and press it back on.

I also crimped the pins a bit, using a pair of plyers and just pinching the plastic plug with the pin inside, this snugs up the connection.
After fighting an intermittant washer pump issue on my BII for about 2 years, this was the final solution. I had replaced the pump and switch a couple of times hopeing it would fix it, then finally tested it with the multimeter and confirmed it was the connection at the pump, but I already had the spare parts so swapping the switch and motor didnt cost me anything.

You didn't say if the motor is running or not - if it is running and not pumping, check and clean the screen inside the tank in front of the motor. Mine was clogged with junk.
