I'm in trouble.
Just built up a 4.0L Mustang OHC and put it in my 98 explorer.
Engine is staked to the tranny OK.
Problem is that after I attached the motor mount brackets to the block, the down holes will not line up with the mount through bolts. The are off by about 1/8". I can't move the motor back or forward because it's staked to the trannny which is bolted to the transmission support crossmember.

Big time stuck. Any suggestions?

Thanks

loosen the tranny mount and push it back. the 2 bolts on the tranny mount. also jack the front of the trans up.

Got it

Got it. Loosened the tran cross member bolts and raised the back 1/2". That lowered the front and made it parallel. Popped right in.
Thanks

enlarge the hole

The bolt thru openings in my stock mounts are considerably larger than the bolts. Just elongate the openings in the needed direction with a small grinder. Do you have a Dremel? Unfortunately, you'll have to remove the mounting plates.

The issue was solved as in my previous post but thank you for the reply.
