Does anyone know where to find it? My friend is looking and can't find the full synthetic anywhere.

Dealer only. The synthetic blend is a very high quality 5k oil and its cheap, do a quick google and you will see how many poeple with other makes and modles using it.

Too expensive on Amazon. $15/quart

Found it! A Ford dealer had it For $7.00/Quart. For a full synthetic this is a great deal.

Not exactly a great deal. That's $35 for 5 quarts plus the tax when you can go to Wal Mart and buy a 5 quart jug of Mobil 1 or Castrol or other major brands of full synthetic oil for $22-$28 for the 5 quart jug. I can't see Motorcraft oil being of better quality than any of those.

Compared to the prices I have seen for the same exact product, it's a great deal. Amazon wanted more than double than what the dealer wanted.

there's a reason why Ford didn't go all the way with "Full Synthetic" oil on older trucks/cars. They went with "Synthetic Blend" so that the seals on older trucks which originally doesn't require synthetic doesn't crap out quickly (or in my own terms "oil shock")

newer cars/trucks nowadays require full synthetic.

A myth. Not proven with newer full synthetic oils, providing the seals aren't leaking to begin with. Any info appreciated.

^ Agree, and essentially the same as Kendall full synthetic with a slightly different additive pack. [/url]

I haven't seen Kendall oil around in my area since the late 70's or early 80's. One of the first quick oil change shops to pop up in my area was a Kendall oil change shop.

could be but most of the info I have is from word of mouth from the ford tech/service guys. most agree though that if you have a high mileage engine and has been using non-synthetic for a long time there's a big possibility that the strong detergents (additive) in the synthetic could clean up the gunk that help seal the engine. other thing is economy-wise, it's going to cost more to go full synthetic when you can achieve the same using a blend.

I know people who switched to a full synthetic at high miles and they didn't have any issues.
