I dont know if its me or what, but ive had to sets of clear corners on my explorer and they turn this nasty shade of yellow, and it CAN NOT be cleaned. So i got an idea the other day when i saw a mountaineer at a gas station. they set up used to be the same as the explorer till '98, they Mercury changed the looks. the size is the exact same as the explorer, but the headlights are bigger and the corners are smaller. they also look better. i was just wondering if this would bolt up and fit a 95-01 explorer front end ???

They are not an exact fit. It'll take a lot of work.

DAMN, its looks almost like a direct fit, the space is even set up the same up in the front. I prob. will do this because they are glass instead of the explorers plastic

Has anyone made this swap?

If so. please offer whats involved and pics.

Thanks.....

I don't think so, because it is a lot harder than it seems.

Yes id like to see the pics too, and was there a lot of wire work with the light set up ??

The only way you could do a swap,, is to swap the whole Grill and Lights.. the mounty grill and lights will fit in a 95+ explorer grill, but u can't juss change the lights, you have to swap grills too!.. I was selling my whole front end awhie ago.. My grill, lights, front mounty bumper, manik grill guard, glass fenders and stock fenders for like 900 bucks total...

You need to swap the header panel too.

i looked into this. the angle at which the x headlights go sorta swoops up away from the center. the mountaineer is the opposite. you would have to almost flip the headlights upside down and put the drivers side on the passenger side and vice versa. basically to do the swap, you need the mountainner header panel, grille and headlights and corner lights. its a pretty costly conversion. the only other way i see it happening is if you used the mountaineer headlight panel with headlights, and custom molded the grille to fit. you would have to do some cutting and and some glassing.

bet ya'll wish ihad pictures

hows the front conversion going drew? and why dont you take pictures.. everyones waiting for pictures..
