I need help, I’ve gone through the “Explorer no start checklist” and figured out my engine light doesn’t work, but get 4.5 volts at TPS, so how can I check the crank sensor?
If I start truck and still get 4 volts at TPS, does that mean crank sensor is good?
And is it normal for crank sensor to just go out?
Thanks

Scanner with live data. It’ll tell you RPM while cranking, 150 or so.

If it reads 0, sensor is dead

Is the check engine bulb burned out?

On side note.....like that color blue...clean rig...and like the "Explorer" version grille on your Mounty versus upside-down grille look on later models.... to each his own though..

Does the tachometer needle move at all when cranking?

Does the check engine light come on when you first turn on key?

Yes the crank sensors go out
They are exposed to the weather and road grime more than any other sensor

When they go out you lose spark
