Mud flap removal question

Hi there all, I have an 02 Ex, and want to remove the factory mud flaps, the front looks easy, but the rear looks like they are part of the wheel arch. Has anyone removed theirs?

The back ones do a wonder to keep rocks/debris from destroying the body..
That's why I have running boards (without every rock hit the side of the body)
I don't have anything on the front..

Just saw you already posted a thread. Put some pics up of the rear mudflaps so we can see what you are dealing with.
