alright it went down like this, me and a couple of friends we out at a place we call Six Mile, we were all romping around and splashing through the puddles and i attempted to go through a pretty deep one ( if you hit the ruts) so i make a huge splash and then my car stalls. my friends Z71 pulls me out and i start the car back up and let it run for awhile just to clean it out you know. after that it runs fine but i dont feel like stalling again so i start to just crawl through the puddles and i dont get stuck once and when we are about to leave my car is just flat out bogging down ( the engine ). we get on the highway and my RPMs are just flying when i punch it and it wont switch gears or something. so we get the car wash and my engine is covered in mud. well to make a long story short my car X wont start at all. my friends ranger was doing the same thing and all he did was get a new alternator and it was fine but i havent had a chance to take mine in. the whole escapade was fun because i was crawling through the puddles that other trucks were romping through. that is what i liked about it and they were all telling me i was crazy. anyways, what do you all think the problem could be? any comments welcome. cya later.

yeah just wash real good EVERYWHERE. Make sure you get around the axle(not in the breather), around the transmission and around the engine. Also do a good spray down on the engine compartment. Sometimes if water gets where its not supposed to be in the engine compartment it will cause the car to not start.

How deep was the water you went through? You may need to change oils and other fluids, check them first though.

the deepest puddle was covering 3/4 of my bumper. and i sort of just crawled through that one but there were a couple of semi deep ones that i thrashed through and might have gotten mud on something that isnt supposed to be muddy. what are some other things that might be causing the engine to bog the way it is? any comments welcome. cya.

Have you checked your air filter?? Maybe the filter is all wet and muddy and starving the engine for air. If the filter is wet, then you mass airflow sensor is likely dirty too.
