I"m thinking about getting a Flowmaster Super 40, they're on Ebay for $65 right now. If I was to buy it, could I have a muffler shop cut out the old one and reuse the same pipe or would I have to get new pipes? What would the cost difference maybe be?? Thanks!

If your stock tailpipe is 2" get a 2.25" one. If the stock tailpipe is 2.25", get a 2.5" one. A new tailpipe will probably add about $30 to the cost of the muffler installation.

However, most muffler shops will not install mufflers they didn't sell.

Man Alec you're always on here. :) I'm not quite sure about what you said...can I keep the same pipes and have them welded to the new muffler or do I need a whole new pipe from the headers back? Thanks Alec

no, they'll just cut the old muffler off and start from there. they may put some new tubing between the cats and the muffler, but it's not big deal.
