Hi:

Does anyone know if there is a way to identify a muffler from the number stamped on the body of the muffler?

I have acquired a muffler that looked like it would fit but when I match it up under the vehicle I can see it will not fit. So now I am wondering what vehicle it does fit.

Thanks

I know from experience that my 1969 Ford Formal Roof Cobra's original mufflers were still hanging under it when I got the car by the C9xx-xxxx-xx Ford part number that was stamped into each of the mufflers (C9 representing a 1969 original Ford part). If the muffler is an after-market muffler I'm not sure. Walker is an exhaust system manufacturer. Their site MIGHT have a cross-reference listing on it.

Post the numbers.

22790 is a walker # for the '94 X

there is a 'performance Turbo muffler 17697 Tenneco makes it. you'll have to buy all the parts in order for it to fit. It's longer then stock

One of the mufflers if have has two different stamps. There is a K7 stamped on top and the 5921 stamped on the bottom (or right and left of muffler). A second muffler also has two numbers 467 and then 84125162 again one number on the right and one on the left.

Thanks
