Multiple Electrical problems

The upper windshield where the power mirror is, developed a leak when it rains.
I thought I had it sealed well enough using Silicone. Still has a leak.
Now, power locks don't work when it's sunny, but when raining, they lock on and off repeatedly. Dome light stopped working, Now the tail lights and brake lights stopped working.

The 4 ways work, no back up lamps, though.

I've already checked all bulbs and fuses, they're fine.

I suppose a way to break this problem is to figure out what all these have in common. If you have a repair book with schematics, use a highlighter and mark everything that isn't working and see if they tie together somehow. I'll look at my factory book and give you some ideas, check back on Sunday afternoon.

There are two fuse boxes, one under the hood on the right fender, and one under the driver dashboard. Did you check both of them for bad fuses?

I will check them all again. It's been a while since I checked the fuse panel under the hood. I'm wondering about all those junction boxes ( in the tire well area /trunk)
The old explorer has rust there and water /moisture has been wetting those.

Please check for voltage on both sides of fuse #3 in the box under the hood and if present, then check both sides of fuse #8 under the dashboard. Next, find a helper to press on the horn while you test for voltage at the horn, behind the grill. That will be good to start with. Oh, did your horn work before all of this? If not then we need to go a different route. A lot of this could be explained by a bad ground in the back end.

Yes, the horn worked, everything worked, until the water seeped in from the windshield, near the power mirror. No warning that I know of, it just started leaking there.
It rained so bad when I was driving it one day, that the dashboard was getting pretty wet.
I stuffed paper towels up into the mirror/windshield area to help stop the rain from coming in.

I will try checking what you suggested. Thank you so much.

PS forgot to mention the back windshield wiper stopped working as well. oye!!!

All this stuff ultimately goes through the driver's dashboard. Some of it is involved in the turn signal switch (aka multifunction switch), some in the headlight switch. I think it all goes through the inside fuse box at some point or another, and the turn signal flasher may be involved as well, that's the big round thing built into the inside fuse box. I would try and disconnect/reconnect everything I could reach easily in that area, and reseat all the fuses and whatnot in the inside fusebox. I don't see how water could have got all the way there, I'm just thinking out loud.

You may be going to see an auto electrician or if you are up for it, taking the dash apart to the point you can get up in that upper left corner. I think that all must have got soaked, and you are dealing with corrosion in components and connectors.

But, I am way ahead of myself. Test through the horn circuit, maybe it will take us somewhere.
