My 2000 Moutaineer

Ok this was just a quick pic I got walking into work the other day. I'll get more later on. But for mine I have to drill and tap 2 more holes. Honestly it's tight as is with 2 but 2 more is just extra protection

MAF adapter kit ordered. ill get more pics of the skid plate tonight when its not hot as balls out

Truck wouldn't start today. Probably alternator. Had to get it towed to STS. Will prob get the leak, LBJs, and alternator all done if its a reasonable price. Great end to a bad day -__-

New alternator, LBJs, and tie rod ends. Exhaust and intake on its way. Hey it's only money :P lol

Hey, less stuff to break later, which means more money for more mods later.

put on new air filter

You taking the mounty to prom? I took my uncle's Chrysler crossfire to my senior prom.

Nice Mounty, just read thru the pages. How do u like those rear shocks/coil overs?

Haha, mine didn't get to see a prom :(, but it was parked next to my graduation march so my entire high school class had to pass it by. Close enough.

But seriously though, I'd like to know if you notice a difference with that air filter. I keep debating whether to get something like that for mine, but everyone seems to be split. I like where your Mounty is going

I have K&N FIPK kit, a little difference by itself, a noticeable difference when added the Magnaflow Cat Back. Granted, its the 4.sl0w OHV but will take any gains I can.

EDIT:
Flowmaster Cat Back not Magnaflow

Ok so I'm still exhausted so I'll try to answer everything.
No my Mountie didn't see the prom, my buddy's did tho :P but we got a stretch escalade :P
the coil overs are Absolutley amazing in my opinion it is the best thing I've done thus far
I do notice a difference in acceleration and throttle response but it's not major. The filter and exhaust together is where I expect my big gain

Hmm interesting. My motor too so that's helpful, thanks.

Again, hmm... Sounds like a filter and exhaust combo is where the magic will happen. Ok then. Thanks for the speedy response, hope you had a great time!

Its not a HUGE difference but it is difinitely noticeable. And, wow, I have a Flowmaster Cat Back... Magnaflow is on my other SUV (the sound of the Magnaflow is louder and throatier). Went with the Flowmaster as it was made for the Sport OHV and has all mandrel bent pipes. I believe it was from Summit for around $180 many years ago, but as you can tell memory is starting to fade.... At least the word "Flow" is in Flowmaster and Magnaflow...

i wish it was $180! lol do u know what flowmaster it is? im pretty sure mine is the Flowmaster 50 BigBlock

BigJoe,
It is no longer on the summitracing site nor flowmaster site. It is a FORCE II catback system which uses a 50 series muffler. I do not remember the term BIG BLOCK being used, I thought it was SUV 50 series muffler. Might be the same based on the description on flowmaster website. It is not loud at idle, "throatier" than stock, louder at WOT. Will see if I can find more info on it if you need? Shame it does not appear to be made any longer, but I am sure demand for 2nd gen 4.0 OHV Sport models has to be pretty limited.

Installing my flowmaster system today. The plan was:
1:go to homedepot and buy angle grinder/cutoff wheel
2: remove tailpipe
3: cut out muffler
4: install new system.
But what I did
1: remove tailpipe
2:curse excessively because I forgot the 1st step
3: go to home depot
4: (where I am now) wait for exhaust pipes to cool off some
5: cut out muffler
6: bend braket
7: install new system.

I'm dumb.

Ok well the rust bucket doesn't want to cooperate so I'm going to bring it to STS and have the put the new muffler in tomorrow. I'm only going to have them do the muffler because anything else will cost me an arm and a leg :P

BigJoe, that is Funny stuff, it is something I would do myself!! I had a local muffler place install the catback for $50 (many years ago). The installer was a Real Dink, was cursing like crazy and having a Huge Hissy Fit that it would never work.... I somewhat knew the owner and asked him if someone else could work on my truck that wasnt "Falling Down Michael Douglas Style"... Also called Flowmaster, spoke with a Flowmaster tech super quick, was told they have Never had fitment issues and gave "jackie" the installer who was still working on my Ex some tips. He was done in about 30 minutes... There were Zero fitment issues. Been pretty impressed with Flowmaster ever since. Never went back to that muffler place though, if they were going to employ a "jackie" like that, I wasnt going back.

And that cat back you got looks very similar to what I have, but looks like they are including a quality tip this time around.

Looking forward to pics.
