You need to have the transmission in park or nuetral before you push the button to get it to go into 4x4 low.

k, did you try the 4x4 low button when stopped, and in nuetral ??
usually you will hear a clicking noise when the relays start changing things in 4wd, ,

Ive just gone through all this too. Just yesterday as a matter of fact. Ive discovered that not only do you have to be in neutral, but you have to have your foot on the brake in order to engage low range. If you've tried all that and still nothing then its time to re-build the TC shifter motor. (super easy) But be careful not to break the little torx scews or you'll find yourself cursing the day you decided to buy your Ford.

Cool guys. I haven't tryed all that to get to low range. once I flush my coolent and change my oil I'll give it a try.

I was burning oil the other day so I've since stoped driving it, but I've been to busy to do all that.
