ill bookmark that link myself. where is the gear exactly? i know on the transfercase. but a pic would be best to describe to me.

lucky, my od gear is broken. i have N and D both give me neutral. luckily (D) sill works lol
what tires are those? they look good.

Its right in the tailshaft.this gear only control your speedo so your drive and neutral problem is something totally different. Tires are 33x12.50x15 bf mud,they are pretty new but ill be selling them soon

do they make like a spacer ring that goes under the cover to mover it out farther for bigger gears?my stock cover fit but my chrome cove the gears rubbed the inside off it,like it needed to come out a 1/4".

buy enough gaskets to equal 1/4" thick when rtv'd together? lolol

Engine is far from stock and i just finshed this swap this week and i dont have brakes so havent driven more than a 1/10 mile to work and back afyer my first 15mile break in drive.before gear swap i only got 11mpg city with my motor and 3.73

i wanna do a sohc engine swap and i wanna run 31s with a 2inch lift.
but im afraid if i do all of that with the stock axle ratios all get worse gas mileage
i have a 91 xlt

Why sohc? All that work just do the 5.0 swap.what gear do you have?31 with 3.73 wouldnt be that bad but any motor in a 91 aint going to get great gas mileage

i have 30s with 3.55s. i got around 11-12mpg. very dirty engine that need work and a heavy foot. most i ever saw was 12.53mpg

mine says 45 so i have 3.55
but like a said im still learning the ropes. i know alot about engines but not a whole lot about axles
