Hey guys quick question.
When I installed my body lift this weekend I had to remove the cargo area carpet. Well when I unbolted the carpet from where the back seat folds down, I found a black box under there thats labled "moterolla" on it. It has two wires going to it, One is a cable wire and the other is an ethernet type phone line.
Any clue what this is? I would have taken a pic of it but I did not have my camera with me when I did the bl.
Thanks in advance
JIGA

I have one in my 94. I know the previous owner had a car phone in there so I assumed it was connected to that at some point. Perhaps yours did at one point too have a car phone inside of it.

Factory cell phone. I bet there is an antenna on one of your rear side windows...

EDIT: it may be an aftermarket phone(most likely analog), because the phone on my old Explorer was in the rear with the radio brain and subwoofer.

Yes it did have a car phone in it from the previous owner when I first bought it. I sorta figured thats what it was used for. The cable wire through me off.
Thanks

The cable is for the outside antenna, and the RG45 is for the phone handset.

Yep
I do have the oldschool phone antenna on my back side window. And don't ask me why but I like the look of it. Its staying.
Thanks again guys

you can use that antenna if your current phone has an antenna port. I bet its a dual band antenna, so it will work with any carrier/technology.
