I have just built the box for my solobaric 15's. They're not vented b/c the manual says they absolutely should not be. Should I put any sort of stuffing material in them?

Yes poly fill is a good filler material for sealed enclosures, I have a lb in each of my 12's boxes. It profiveds tighter bass, and helps with sound. I know it makes a difference and would reccomend it.

I think one of the best things to use for stuffing is pillow dacron. Basically, use it if you want your box to "feel" larger. I think it makes the box seem .1 cu ft larger for every .6-.7 cu ft of stuffing. If your box is around the recommended volume for your subs or a bit below, you might want to stuff it. If it's already larger, there's not a need.

Ok...

Now where can I get that stuffer? Will any car audio store have it? And by the way... are you a med student or doctor at UTMB? I visited it in high school on a junior med. conference. I'm in NY.

You can get dacron at any Walmart or home store, normal pillow stuffing works just fine. I put about 3/5 of a large bag into my .6 cu ft box.

I'm starting at UTMB in the Fall. I just changed my sig in my excitement of getting accepted.

that's great!

I'm a senior at Albany Med.! I'm done this may!

I'll put the stuffing in tomorrow. I was already told the bass would be tight b/c it's a closed box... but we'll see.

thanks,
joe
