I don't know what causes this but when I put the cd in it goes in makes a bunch of clicking noises spits it out then takes it back in clicks some more, then spits it out. After that I have to push it back in and the same thing happens. Sometimes it takes several minutes of doing this to get it to accept a cd. My deck is a Pioneer DEH uh 59 I think, it's about oh I'd say 5 years old or so. Is it just time to retire the ol' timer and get a new one?

Thanks

it's probably better to buy a new one than have the old one repaired. i had a similar problem with my first DVD player. i called the manufacturer and they said something that scans the disk was misaligned. i took it back and got a new one. if your cd player was new, i would say take it to a shop to be repaired. but because of it's age, something else will go wrong eventually anyway. it's just better to replace it.

By a new one. Something is wrong with thc CD transport. The cost would be more than a new one.
When youbuy a new one you also get a new warranty. We only warranty repairs for 60 days at work and most parts only come with a 30 day warranty.

Hey thanks guys, I'm just going to buy a new one but I wanted to find out what the problem could be so thanks again for the input.

Good idea.

It's best to buy a new one if your deck is 5 years old. It would probably cost as much as a new deck to get the old one fixed. I know from personal experience.

Sounds familiar, I have a 2 yr old pioneer cd player that started doing stuff like that ( take the cd in and make noises for a minute before telling me ERROR ) and finnaly it stopped playing completely, luckily I bought the 4 yr warranty at best buy and it was sent off to "get fixed" last week. Hopefully I will be getting a call saying take your pick of a new cd player : )

hey rustytr, did you get a new headunit yet?
