You guys are probably way ahead of me here, but I started getting the ABS warning light on my dash recently and wondered what it could be. Doing a lot of reading here suggested the rear speed sensor in the diff was a likely culprit. To make a long story short, I simply pulled out this sensor as well as the two on the front and was surprised to see a big amount of crud on all the sensors. They don't look like they've been cleaned in the life of the vehicle, so I simply cleaned them off and stuck them back in there. Problem solved. No more check light.
This may only work 1 out of 10 times, but it doesn't cost anything to try before you purchase new sensors.
