My door lock wont turn! suggestions??

Ever since i bought my truck last year the passenger side was a real PITA to open and u had to go back and fourth until it broke free and now it is doing it on the driver side but even worse, i have to open it from the trunk
Anyone have this problem? How do I fix it????

So the power lock works but you are not able to get it open with the key?

just and idea......... you might wanna try spaying a little WD-40 in the key hole.......... it's worked in the past for me on the lock on the front door of my house

forget the wd, there is a prodct called lock-ease.It is graphite and silicone.Works really well.I did my ignition, thought it would need replaced, is all good now

well........ that would probably would work the best, but i just figured whe run out to the store when everyone has a good ole can of WD just sitting around the house, and it will do the trick just as well....

Same thing happened to my locks, the locksmith (gettin a key made) said the grease in there kinda freezes up especially when its cold outside. He told me to use wd-40

Just use the little stick thing on the can of wd....and dont leave any spillage on the door...that stuff will stain the door..

No man... The other stuff will make all your locks feel brand new.Way better than wd.I even used it on my house door.

I had the same problem...Used WD-40, and it only worked for a couple days. I eventually took it to the dealer and they ended up fixing it. I'd try that lock-ease stuff.

Yah...go with the lock-ease...wd 40 seems like it would be more of a temporary fix

WD40 also attracts dirt. It will improve action briefly but later will combine with solids and increase wear, gum up mechanisms, etc. That stuff is a holdover from the days of single-weight oils and earwax rust preventatives. Better products are available for any of its listed applications. As mentioned, powdered graphite and teflon products work well for lock mechanisms.

I just replaced the whole door latch in my 97 XLT today. I had a broken spring in it and the lock would only work with the keyless entry. The key lock had come loose from the door latch shaft. It took 1 hr to replace and a 1/2 inch tear in my index finger to replace. Works like a champ!! The cost for me was about $35.00 for the door latch assembly.
