My O/D light is flashing with a new transmission.

i just got the transmission replaced in my 1995 ford explorer 4.0 engine. the o/d lights comes on and the truck start acting stupid could it be that my overdrive switch in the shifter because its broke you cant manually cut it on and off

Define Stupid in this case... What was truck doing? Did it appear to go into a lower gear and increase revs?

Welcome to this forum! I've renamed your thread, and moved it into the transmissions section. Find out what the code number is, and check the wiring connections.

Whan you said that you had it replaced- was that from a shop that you paid to do it? If it was, to me the first thing you should do is take it back there and demand that they fix it, IMHO...

Was it a rebuilt/new trans or a used replacement? This is a dumb question, but if it was a used trans, was it from a '95? They are year specific...
