This is my first whoops moment when out wheelin it up and it caused me a bit of grief.
Me and my best friend were up in the mountains around 8 p.m. Thats was my first mistake goin up that late and with only one vehicle. So anyways im heading up with ridge and all of the sudden i start to hear this griding noise and not like a suttle sound it was a brutal grinding noise that made me cringe when i heard it. So i stop get out look at everything everything is still attached ( not for long) so i get back in my ex and start to turn around. After i get turned around i head back down the ridge and about 15 feet down the noise comes back but even louder and then all of the sudden the whole fornt end of the car take about a 2 foot dropp right onto the ground and my foot which was on the brake pedal goes to the floor. I look at my friend and say what the hell? so i get out and to my extreme suprise the front drivers side tire is ****ed sideways in the wheel well. Well i start to figure out what im goin to do cause im 15 miles from any paved road and its like 8 at night. so i call some friend they come and get me me and my dad take his truck up there loaded with tools and we go up to the mountain. Now this mountain is a favorite shhoting place for alot of people and while im away form my ex im worried sick that i will come back to find my ride flipped over and shot full og holes. well thank god it wasnt so me and my dad proceed to fix it. About hour later we have the wheel back on. but one small probvlem still exists how to get down the mountain without any brakes ( the brake line got sheared off) so i take my shirt off tie it to the emergency brake release and put it in drive. I did that for about half a mile and then we got my dads truck behind my ex and put a chian between the two. so heres me in my ex and my dad in his truck and when we are goin down hill he is putting on his brakes and stopping me and when were are on flat ground or going up hill im pulling him, it was surely i sight to behold. well we got the ex back to my hosue around 1 in the moring, and the next day i inspected the cause. About 3 months earlier i replaced the brake pads in the fornt calipers, what i didnt know is that i broke the safety key on the spindle nut so when i put it back on theres was nothing to keep it form coming off. It drove fine until i put it in 4 wheel drive then it just spun the nut off. It was a tiring ordeal but i have put everything back togehter (Properly) and instead of the autolocklin hubs i have installed two warn maueal hubs.
