170 is not a bad number; 143 definately is. Why such difference?

not a clue.. they were all done one right after the other..

170 isn't bad.. but when I have a catback and a kkm, and a stock 96 with GT-40 heads dynos 10hp above me.. it doesn't look so hot

I did 4 runs, yet there is no printout of run #2.. 1 was 157 2.. I think was 125 or so.. dont remember, no printout.. 3 170.2 and 4 143

There is something rotten in Denmark... there should not be that kind of variation in the numbers.

Make the dyno shop explain that to you.

I've talked to the guy on a few occasions just general talking. I can't quite understand where he gets his info.. 1st he told me he could get a kenne bell charger for my truck, and then he said he could get.. bassani? headers? for it.. well neither of these brands make stuff for my truck, but he was thinking you could bolt any truck/suv 5.0 parts to my suv.. he is a ford guy.. but like all other ford guys.. hes a MUSTANG ford guy..

he gave no mention to the numbers being unusual at the time, I haven't addressed it yet, hes been really busy latley and doesn't really have the time to sit around and talk about things hes already made money on

He damn well better talk to you if he ever wants a repeat customer or referrals from you.

well you know how shops are, tjhey dont want to waste time with the "stupids" that ask them questions all day long..

I'm sure he'd be glad to tell me whats up with em, but I dont know if he'd have time right about now.. some people get things they can use for christmas.. LIKE A SUPERCHARGER! but not me.. lol, not like I expect such a thing

would you say these numbers have a direct relationship to my vehicles "problems"?

sometimes when accelerating the "seat of the pants acceleration" will change.. like.. well I described it as surging to a mechanic and be basically told me I was stupid.. so I'm not sure what to call it.. but theres an obvious change in the feeling of the acceleraiton at 3k rpm sometimes.. not always mind you... this ones intermittant.

The biggest problem with the dyno run is that he ran it in either 3rd or 4th. Both of those gears (especially 4th) will hit the governor before hitting red-line. Third could go either way. He should have done it as Alec said, in 2nd. That would put you at about 80 MPH at red-line. You would have gotten more consistent numbers and a more realistic representation of how your Mounty is performing. Basically the results they provided you were crap and worthless.

I concur with Robert about the dyno results' I would make them do it again for you at no cost to you. You were screwed, hope you got kissed first.

nope.. not even any lube lol

hes not gonna do it for free.. thats for sure.. I'm the amateur.. hes the "Expert" and the only one in town..

I cannot say that he did it in drive.. I THINK he did.. all I remember was standing outside the building listening to it.. it would hit the governor and start slowing down.. and then cough out thick black smoke and pick back up again.. seemed a bit unpleasent.

get a long fuse.....put it in the gas tank and light it!

lol, na.. insurance wouldn't give me enough to replace it and be better off..

No, you are the CUSTOMER. Take it back and either get another run or get your money back.

,,,, then, my young friend, you will be taken advantage of until you stand up for your rights.

well this guy is not going to give me a free dyno test.. I talked to my dad about it.. he recalls hearing the truck shift gears several times.. so it musta been in drive when he did it.. but as I said.. hes the expret.. I'm the amateur, I really can't say anything to him thats gonna make him change things.

hes one of 3 perfomrnace dealers in the city.. 1 of 2 that isn't import garbage only

uuuh

ok this is weird.. probablly nothing but ima say it anyway.

took my dad down the road to put the trash down there.. drove back up and put it in the garage.. it was idling high cos it was cold.. so I pulled up farther than I wanted to.. put it in reverse.. my radios muted so immediatley, I hear a vibrating osund, sounds like a peice of plastic hitting another peice of plastic.. I think its something inside..

try to isolate it inside, no dice.. put it in drive.. sound goes away.. back in reverse.. sound comes back.. turn off the heater.. sound still there.. put itin neutral 1, 2, drive park.. none of them make the noise cept reverse.. put it in reverse and roll down my window.. sounds pretty normal.. theres a slight metal clanking sound that would suggest a bad a/c clutch.. but the a/c wasn't on.. so that couldn't be it..

WEIRDNESS! it does stuff like this all the time.. I probablly wont hear it agian.. for like a year
