I just finished the installation today. It's actually more transparent from a distance than I expected it to be. But I think it came out alright.

Looks nice. A little too transparent...but still a nice home made job. Good job!

If you did it in silver/grey mesh it would have looked great. The silver makes it look clean but you wont notice the color. The bugflector and bull-bar kills it though imo.....

I did something similar with the gap between my hitch and the rear bumper. Filled it in great until I painted it black. Now you can hardly tell it's there.

If you want to do something to stand out, why not attach a couple polished aluminum bars? Or paint it something besides black. But, IMHO, I think it looks pretty darn good.

I think it's a bit to transparent also. I think if you put a Ford emblem in the center it would set it off nicely.

That would probably help some and it'd look cool. Completely agree.

The bug deflector is my main defense against rocks and other freeway frag from blasting the front edge of the hood. Within a week of putting the thing on, it took a hit that was hard enough to put the crack in it that you can see in the close-up photo. (I'd prefer that rather than the hood)
The bar is simply to provide a place to mount a pair of lights. A full-on brush bar is just too huge. I think at some point I'll have a winch bumper built and it will all change up front anyway.

Thanks guys!

I like the look of the Ford emblem offset from center, like I did on my Ex, but anywhere you put it will breakup the plain look.
