My X eats more $ in parts than GAS!!!

Hmm...since January, I have had to replace the windshield wiper blades and change the oil a few times. Thats just over 10,000 miles. Mine seems pretty reliable (so far).

and brian, ! dont forget u had to wash it , that adds up, looks good! :) sorry just had to throw that in as well,, no major probs w/ mine 2k2 sport, all though i did have varnish build up on the belts, but other then that , no major porbs, knock on wood!!

Thanks for the help, plugs have been changed, yeah i was aware of the power steering noise from my 'ol 82 chevy pickup.

Maybe Creager is right, I never think of the X as a truck...I treat it like a car, but it sure acts like a truck, IE my 97 c/k 3500 has too many parts to number! (and 266,000 miles btw) I don't mind cause it's a money maker. Well this X is goin to be a trade in, but I sure won't rule out a 2002+ explorer/mountianeer...with the third row seats that my fiance absolutely requests...yikes!

Ask her how she's going to pay for it :p

I like the newer X's a lot more, they keep looking better and better. I like trying new things and doubt I'll get another X, at least not until I have a family.

Exactly... and I bet the person that buys it down the road will be hoping for a reliable vehicle and find out its a dog... They will complain about how bad Ford is etc (hopefully not here)... The point is if you bought the vehicle new and properly maintained it and still had all these problems everyone would be very sympathetic and agree your X was :thumbdwn: But buying a high mileage used vehicle with questionable history is a gamble, and this time you're on the losing side of the bet.
