I have a 93 EB and I recently replaced the interior door pulls (common repair!!). When I removed the drivers side door panel I discovered a small black box that was mounted to one of the screws in the middle on the door panel itself. The large wiring harness from the window/locks/etc.. switch panel on the door was connected to it. It is approx 4" x 3" x1" in size and it is black. Any idea what it is?? I have a Haynes manual and it doesn't show or mention it at all. Could it be a keyless entry module? I bought the truck used and I kind of recall the truck having a keyless entry keyfob when it was new because I new the original owner when he bought it new.

FoxxRocket just noticed the same thing last week and after much debate and confusion, we came to the concensus that it is a government tracking device. Seriously though, no clue. Just don't cut it, you do need it. We just don't know for what.

Its got something to do with your power windows:D
