I have a vacuum nob that looks like a hose should be attached to it but I can't find it. it is located on the back of the nob where all the other hoses connect on the top of the engine by the manifold. If I don't put a plug on it it makes a horrible sound and the engine runs like poo. Is the fuel preasure regulator on a vacuum system? Is this the hose I should be looking for? What other symptems should I be looking for? I am usually great at figuring out my engine but am stumped and my husband is out of town. Does anyone have a better clue than I do? Or maybe what I should be looking for?
Thanks,
Arianna

If a vacuum line came off of the tree then you can plug it back in

if you have an open port on the tree and dont see any vacuum lines that are supossed to go there, its possible you just lost a plug for that port.

There are open ports from the factory that have a simple rubber plug (like a sock) that fits over them to block them off. You may have just lost the blocker

You can get new ones at any parts store, or plug the hole with whatever is available, like a golf tee, to get you by until you can replace it

On a 93 there are a few hoses that go to that tree including the automatic transmission vacuum modulator, the fuel pressure regulator, the brake booster, the vacuum canister, the cruise control and maybe others I am forgetting

Hope that helps
