MySynch text message removal

Anyone know if it is possible to remove the text messaging component from the MySynch system? I have a 2012 Explorer and prefer not to have the messaging show up on my screen. Thanks.

Blah... I wish I could receive texts through Sync with my Droid Bionic! I can send texts through Sync but can't receive them

Hi, American Made!

When you initially paired your phone to MyFord Touch, did you get a MAP request on your phone? If so, I suggest deleting SYNC from your phone and your phone from SYNC, pair your phone again, and decline the MAP request when it asks you for approval. There's no way to turn the text messaging feature off if your phone allows it.

Thank you Rebeccca for the update. Nothing to hide Newport it is just that I do not want to look at text or hear text while driving as I get quite a few during the course of the day and it is to distracting for me. Really dig the system as a whole and love the vehicle.
