What is this thing with the wires coming out of it? I don't have keyless entry, but I thought that is what this might be. What is it?
If it is keyless entry, could I buy a remote off of eBay for cheap and use it?

i think if you have the factory keyless entry you should have the keypad...and if you dont have the keypad then you dont have the keyless entry...

and about the theft light...if it blinks once every 30 seconds then you dont have keyless entry...if it blinks every 2-3 seconds then you do have it...
the blinking light is the anti-theft...pretend alarm...mostly all X's will have this if you do not have keyless entry...

Do you have a keypad on the outside of the driver's door? If so, your truck has keyless. If not, your out of luck unless you go aftermarket. I am pretty sure your truck does have keyless entry because that looks like the PATS (passive anti-theft security) module.

the thing is i dont have any remotes, so how would it have that option on it? i got my X from the dealer so who knows, they could've lost the remotes.

I don't know what it is, but it isn't your keyless entry module. In this pic, the grey thing is the keyless entry module (or PCM that controls keyless entry).

EDIT:

Then you do not have keyless and and must go aftermarket if you want it.

ok thanks, Torrie emailed me back, Ford does make a keyless entry kit but its $180
