Ok since I changed jobs and moved I havea bunch of new siecnery to look at on the way to the office, and one of the companys right down the street from me has an emploee with a silver Navajo.

Now although I have the phone number off the back of the truck, from the for sale sign, I still havn't called, so here's the interesting part.

Kris here on the board an I have talked pretty extensively about the option packages and trim leves that were offered on the Navajo's, and we pretty much came up with the asumption that DX is the lowerst trim level offered and LX is the premium trim level offered, but this truck just says Navajo in the rear lift gatge and has no factory sun-X tint on the glass and no fender flares like the DX model.

Was just wondering if anyone here has a non-DX/LX Navajo and what if any trip level it might have, like weather it has no pwr windows or locks........ETC.

I'll take my camera with me to work today and see about getting some shots and mabey call the guy and see what year and how much he wants for it.

It has later EB wheels on it leading me to also belive it came with steel wheels.

Notice also that it's not painted black between the back glass and the rear quarter windows also, it has not been repainted.
It did have power windows, I have yet to drive it or look inside except for peering through the window, I called the number and got a hold of someone not fluent in the english language although that was apperent when I saw the driver tooling around in it the other day too, it is a daily driver.

Just a sticker that says "Navajo" but it's not factory.

You sure that didn't come from Mexico or something? Given your proximity to the border and the non-fluent person you got on the phone, it is a possibility.

Mike

Weird....Does your Nav. have the black beams in the back or not Jeff? What about Kris...does his have them?

We had that discussion about XL's in theis thread here a long time ago:

http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64587

It looks like a below normal trim level Navaho....Maybe it is like the XL, whereas the DX and LX are like the XLT+....

Yes I'm pretty sure that it's not a south of the border model as I looked for indications for this, it is parked in the labor's section of this construction companys parking lot, and the hispanic nature is pretty consistant here in central Texas.

Yes Crank, my Hoe has the black "C" pillars in the back as does Kris's (have been to his garage/house).
In fact Kris and I have had pretty indepth discussions about the trim levels and options offered on the Navajo's, such as 4wd was the only way you could get itin 1991, and then it was optional 2wd/4wd in 1992, this perticular Navajo does in fact happen to be 2wd, but my 1992 Hoe happens to be 4wd and is also the top of the line trim level being an LX, DX's also don't come with fender flares, but that's the lowest trim level, or so we thought.

Crank thanx for posting the link, I'll have to read it over the weekend as not enough time this morning to read it with coffee before I have to jet off to the office.

I think as you put it:

LX = XLT

DX = XL

$2500 , waaay too much in my book.

Hell yeah it's way to much

Who's SAS hoe is that?

Maybe, just maybe they will come down on the price if:

-Take out all windows and give them to the seller
-Take off stock rims and tires and give them to the seller
-Take off front and rear bumper and give them to the seller
-Take out interior (except seats) and give them to the seller
-Etc, Etc

This is all stuff we would do anyways............. :)
Can you see there face if you actually asked them any of the above?

If I am correct, the owner lives in Houston.

That silver navajo is a DX Navajo. The Funny thing was that the Dx Never came with a badge stating it was a DX. Also no forgien models of the Navajo were made it was for US distribution only so sorry Canada and Mexico...

That SAS Navajo is CHH777. But I didnt know he finished his SAS.

Here is a picture of what my navajo looked like when I bought it about 7 years ago.

and now

Few other things about the Navajo is. 91-92 all are Grey interior Navajos 93-94 are all tan interiors. If you ever see a Red Navajo its a 92. You could only get an leather seat with an Auto Transmission. Also Manual T-cases were not an option like on the explorer. 91 Navajos were all LXs the DX model was not available till 92. All 91 Navajos were 4x4 2wd was not an option.

Over all the Navajo sold very poorly. Maybe it had to do with its small options list compared to the Explorer sport.
