Howdy -

I just bought a box from a fellow member and I need two subs for it. He said the box was built for 2 12" JL W3v2's, but I want to see what everyone thinks. the box is pretty big at 41" wide x 11.5" tall. I don't want to spend a fortune on subs and the JL's are going to be expensive from what I can tell, but I'll drop the cash if I know it's a good product. Suggestions? I don't want to spend more than $300 on subs. Thanks!

Also, let me know if you have any for sale!!

Well, I do have 2 extra Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1Ds, but I don't think their in your price range. By the way, what's the cu ft of the inside of those chambers?

If you can't find out, simply find the measurements of the inside height/width/depth, multiply all those and divide by 1728, that will give you the chamber's cu ft.

(W x H x D)/1728

You kind of need to know this since you bought your box before the subs themselves.

Sealed Enclosure Range: 1.00-1.50 cu.ft. (28.3-42.0 liters)
Ported Enclosure Range: 2.00-3.00 cu.ft. (57.0-85.0 liters)

That's off JL's site, so it looks like you have a bit of room to work with. For most 12's, around a 1.00cu ft is sometimes the best, the enclosure can really make a powerful sound really crappy. :(

Well, I don't have the box yet, but it's outside measurements are 41" across x 11.5" high x 14" deep. It's 3/4" MDF. I'm getting almost 4 cu feet!! and it's a sealed box. However the 1 cu. foot on JL's website it for ONE sub, it's different if you have two, but I'm not sure that it just doubles. If the box is too big I can put something inside to make it smaller. What do you want for your Perfect 12's? are they 4 ohm? DVC?

Thanks for your help.

Try this site, they have some good deals, for whatever you may be looking for.

Bleh.. there's 2 chambers (hopefully) in that box of yours, which each have a measured inside-chamber cubic inch. At this point, the outside measurements and board thickness really doesn't matter. Just ask whoever you're getting it from for the W/D/H of each inside chamber, and you can figure it out from there (with that equation I gave you).

As for the perfect 12.1Ds, yes, they're 4ohm stereo DVC's. My install of these with the custom box can be found here.

I'd sell them for more than you can find on eBay.. simply because I paid more for them then what they're selling for. They're perfect in a 1.00-1.10cu ft chamber (per sub obviously) with some polyfill or insulation. PM me if you're still interested.

Hope that helps.

those subs would probably be a great choice if you can afford them and the box is built as i would expect it to be with those outside dimensions.

How much would you pay for two 12w0's ?

subs

i have 2 Rockford Fosgate Punch HX2 dual 4 ohm subs that i need to get rid of. Looking for around 300 for them, if i can get it. They are brand new, never been used, have all the boxes, manuals and such.

I really need at least W3, but I want W6's. I don't think W0's would like ~350 RMS power that much. According to JL's site they just can't handle the power I'm sending.

I have HE2's now in the 10" version - What is the difference in the HE's and the HX's?

Thanks!

The HX is RF's new line in DVC subs basically. The ones he mentioned (from the looks of it) look to be pretty good. The newest ones are 2ohm DVC's, and he said 4ohm, so there still pretty up there. Another difference is more power, for one, because they're 12s and not 10s, and because of RF's new cone design.

I'd be willing to let my 12.1Ds to go for $450 shipped, I'm still loosing out, but eh, it's up to you. You may want to visit your local car audio shop and hear some of the subs. Best Buy (shrug) is a major RF dealer, so if you wanna hear the HX/HE 12s, you should check it out.

the hx2's are last years model they arent the 04. but they were shipped directly from fosgate, and i they havent seen outside their boxes. i aslo have 2 12 inch HE's with a 400s amp if anyone is interested
