I need to replace my stock exhaust system.
Since time and cash are in short supply the stock system will have to do.
Who out of the major exhaust installers has a good system?
I have always done my own work, but it's cold out.
Does one stand out?
Is there something to look out for or ask for?

Any input would be appreciated.

Do you mean you want to buy a complete stock system, or want a custom setup?? B/C a dealer will jack your azz for a stock system replacement.

You are way better off going with a custom setup, are you looking for an aggressive tone? I would recommend getting a Flomaster muffler if you want it to be loud and aggressive, or a Magnaflow muffler which is a free flowing design if you want it to be still aggressive but with no resonance inside...and then take it too a shop to have a custom catback made for you.

There are other manufacturers such as Borla and Gibson which are high quality but they are a quieter and a lot more expensive.

I wish I could afford a custom system right now.

I was thinking more in the lines of a midas, car-x or sears type of place.
I would think the product is pretty much standard?

Any thoughts?

If you look around, you can prolly find a shop that would do a custom job for you for about the price that Midas or Sears would charge you.

this is what i did...bought a flowmaster muffler for $60 and had a local shop install it for me and run new pipes off it for $80...not too bad i think
