the remote gain controll is cool i wish they all came with something like that...instead they come with a "bass" knob...id rather have gain controll

Actually, the remote for the JL 1000/1 is a bass control. It adjusts the level of bass boost not the gain on the amp.

When using a stock radio and no eq it's real hard to build a system that can beat some of the comp. You would need to put bass blockers or something for your speakers. My front speaker amp has a HPF at 80hz which helped me out alot but still with a radio that only hass baas/treble controls your limited to how you can tune the music. My reason for keeping the stock radio was the in dash 6 plus i have the stock DVD system.

Well after having two subs and an amp that has more then enough power,... and not being able to listen to the music how i wanted to.......... I did away with the stock radio put my pioneer in and hooked up the DVD unit an ignitionion lead. I didn't listen to the dvd thru the radio any way...

Now i got SQ with SPL to back it up.
Still have the bass knob but now I have it set all the way up and control everything from the radio. Front speaker amp is now set at full range also.

Well nice little discussion off my "lil" post... very informative. Anyways, I am pretty sure I know what kind of amp I'm gonna be running now but I want a couple of honest opinions. I'm gonna run the e12a off of a tru T2.100. The guy at ED told me it would run at a lil under 500 wrms? Am planning on running the sub in the ported box the ED site recommends. I'm getting a pretty good price on them. I know the amp doesn't put out 800 rms but do you think i really need it? Will this get loud at all? The ED guy said the e12a doesn't need all that much power to get loud. And he also told me I would not be underpowering it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks once again/ You guys are great!;)

scrap the whole jl audio idea, i heard they are nice and sound good but dude for a lot of us we just dont have the money, i found an audiobahn 1206t for 125 bucks thats 1100 watts rms, hook that up to a 1200 watt mono jbl amp for 259 bucks on ike sound too, and u got urself some thump, trust me thats what im running in my 98 sport, and it ####ing pounds hell out of my 3 10s in my other car

but does it sound nice?

I already scrapped the JL audio idea... I said I was going with the Elemental designs E12A. But I wanted to get opininions on the TRU T2.100.

your jbl/audiobahn set-up can't begin to compare with the stuff he is talking about running.

Expo how come we are always on the same level....lol

yes it does sound nice, really nice, if you dont believe me then ok, but you would be amazed at what that can do when its put together, throw in audiobahn 6x8s all the way around, at 105 rms a pair, and it sounds awesome, i need to get a bigger cap though cuz i only got a 1 farad, and i have a 3 farad on the way. but i spent just under a grand for EVERYTHING, and i mean anything and everything you would need, sub and box, sub amp, BIG 4 channel, all wiring, cap, and 2 sets of speakers, it sounds great, but thats just my 2 cents, and its your money.

you have no idea what the systems of the people your talking to sound like...

or what sound is good

lurk for a while next time

this is stuff that is still in progress but i think it shows you the idea. This system will hit 150+ decibels while listening to music and the 3-way components keep up even at those type of levels.

these are my pics- but the people discussing things in this thread are talking about audio on a similar level.

Heh...ummmm yeah...ummm....5.0 heh man I think I am almost speechless on this one...wait no im not....

Audiobahn...well its Audiobahn....nice stuff really and truly....you spent grand on all that stuff man when I first got my system I spent 800 on the Sub and Amp and all the wiring...and it was already in a 4.5 Cube Slot ported custom box......as seen

Sub.jpg

Now add on my headunit which is a Pioneer 8400 and you have me spending a G.....now of course my door speakers which are by anyones standars...(right expo) complete and utter crap but hey they aren't blown like the stock ones...and u got an extra 80 bucks for all 4 of them...Pioneer 3-Ways....so yeah I guess i spend 80 bucks over a G and that puts me out of the running...but look what I got....I mean seriously....this just isn't an audiobahn thread.....see below...

systemshowoff.jpg

That right there is no audiobahn....but that right there is a sub and setup that hits 150 and sounds nice when the music is on....
