Need Box Ideas Please

I am going to get a system installed hopefully this winter break. I just ordered my HU - Alpine 7995, and im planning on getting the Audiobahn A2300hcq amp for my 3 Audiobahn Alum12q. Ill also be getting the abc6002 q components for the front, and 680p 6x8 speakers for the rear. THe amp for those will be the 4401q which is 50x4. My questions is, i want to do my install similar to Madmoder. He has his amps right behind the rear seats, and the subs facing the rear. However, i want to be able to use the cargo cover in order to hide the sub box. I will be using 3 12's, and the cargo cover is approx 11 inches from the trunk floor. I will have to angle the subs up to the rear window , but i dont want to angle them completely facing the roof.

Any suggestions on how i should get the box made?

When I had my Kove's in my ex I used this box and my cargo cover pulled over these easy and I had room to spare in the rear cargo area

Yea, I would say build something like 88vert's box, then you can mount your amps to the back of it, and then when the cargo cover is drawn, everything is hidden.

I was gonna say the same thing, Darkfox does your box take up the whole cargo area or something?????

I have three MTX 10's in a sealed MTX trapeziod box. It barely takes up any space at all, like a fraction of what your box does

I think its something like 2.3 cu ft total if I recall correctly.. the actual enclosure anway been a long time.

I was gonna say, I don't think those speakers needed all the volume of the cargo area

Thats about the size of mine except mine is not as tall or wide and it's a trapeziod shape.

those are all awesome setups, but i still want to be able to use the cargo cover. THose boxes go too high for the cargo cover to work. Anyone have any ideas on the angles i should use? im going to be getting it professionally done, so i guess they can figure out the exact angles and lengths and widths, but i was just hoping someone here has done their boxes with their cargo covers still functional

88vert.. that box looks much higher than 11 inches. THe cargo cover on my x only has about 11 inches of clearance.

Just another idea.
I was going to use the 2300HCX amp, but it would not fit for my setup! I believe that if you wanted to, you could fit the box for three subs between the wheel wells and still come up with enough air for the subs. The subs themselves are kind of deep though, I think that by the time you got them angled enough to fit under the cargo cover, along with the thickness of the MDF of the box, they may be pointing pretty much straight up towards the roof

would i notice a difference in the performance of the subs if i angled them completely up facing the roof as compared to facing the rear hatch?

or what if i put the amps on top, and the subs downfiring, and because the subs are downfiring, i wont have to worry about damaging it with stuff in my trunk, but would that lower the performance of the subs?

Firing the subs staight back at the hatch will give you the best sound/loudness.

Cant say that I agree with that.
I feel that downward firing is ideal.

I suggest that you shoot them down and elevate the box about 4 inches or so above the floor, its kind of like tuning the air passage between the subs and the floor.
Trust me it hits very hard!!!
Also sounds very clean, and you WILL feel it
