I have a 1998 Explorer Eddie Bauer 5.0
MY REAR DRIVER SIDE SHOCK HAS A LEAK
Does anyone know where to find a stock replacement air bag for my rear shocks
All of the mechanics in my neighborhood cant figure out what type of airbag to replace on the system

Thought I saw some on eBay for cheap...

Also look up, Suncore Industries.

Try amazon too, I find very often their prices are lower than eBay.

And I know rockauto has them

...and find a new neighborhood if all of the mechanics are looking for air bags on an Explorer...

The original air suspension (at least on my Limited) had electrically-controlled shocks, which stiffen some when you select the 'off road' position. Whoever was the source of those for Ford, stopped making them a long time ago and replacements don't have this function. I almost never used this feature, so am quite happy with my replacement Monroes. If you insist, the original Ford shocks may still be available somewhere -- it was mentioned about a year ago on this forum.
Incidentally, I noticed that these replacement Monroes are also sold with a Motorcraft logo and part number - at twice the price.
