need help got questions and codes

ok got the motor back together, it is running good better than it was, but i think its running rich again i pulled codes get codes 411 and 412 im lost as far as that goes, the smoke issue is getting better and it seems to be loading up at idle the injectors were cleaned and checked. my question is possible bad ecu/pcm. i checked vacuum lines the one by the charcoal canister could be leaking get a strong odor of gas right there, the charcoal canister is the box on the drivers side inner fender and the hose goes to a solonoid or some line under the intake the other end of it connects to the throttle body

Checked fuel pressure got 35psi with key on not running, engine running I got 32 psi it fluctuates about a pound when running, pressure goes up to 40psi when I disconnect the vacuum line. I also used my stethoscope and listened to all injectors everyone is opening and closing. My theory is the junk inside the intake is clear down inside the heads and such so I think its burning off now any thoughts considering it goes away when revved up

411 and 412 seem to indicate the IAC, did you clean it out?

Have you checked for vacuum leaks?

Evap system charcoal canister has a line that goes to the fuel tank. Another line goes under the intake to a PCM-activated solenoid in-line to the throttle body.

Yeah I cleaned it, Ill check vacuum lines tomorrow its a possibility I'm Gonna take off the belt so I can hear it better

411 & 412 = improper test.

KOER requires input from the brake pedal and throttle at the correct time during the test.

You have no recorded faults. You just performed the test incorrectly.

If the engine runs normal and you skip that part of the test you will always get 411 & 412 and no other codes. Just ignore those two codes. All is good.

Also to test this feature all that is needed is to turn on the a/c and see if it bumps up the idle to compensate for the load of the compressor. Test done... . ..

Cool man thanks for all your guys help

Ok new problem occurred today I came home from work and started the explorer, it started very rough running like it was low on power. I revved it up and it went up to like 1500 rpms or so, then I heard a pop and transmission fluid was coming out of the bell housing, any thoughts

Is it hard to do I've assembled engines before rebuilt a manual never a automatic

No it's not difficult for a first timer to do a rebuild.

There is plenty of info on this subject here to help avoid the common mistakes and to point you in the right direction for upgrades and taking care of know issues.

Head over to the transmission section and start doing your research. Purchasing the a4ld rebuilders manual is well worth the investment.

Some special tools are required, but available, and there are ways to build your own tools also posted up on this forum.

If your budget allows and you plan to keep your Ex. The best rebuilt available is from PATC. for $1650 All upgrades and fixes done. Plus the all important line boring of the new bell housing bushing.

They also have everything you will need to do it your self, and do it right.

The hard part doing it yourself is finding a machine shop who understands this bell housing alignment issue and can actually do the work and for a reasonable cost. (you won't have any trouble finding someone who says they can do it; but turns out they have no idea how to do it correctly)

Keep in mind in your case the bell housing issues may be all that needs to be addressed, I'm just not in the habit of pulling the trans and not doing a full rebuild while it's out.

The damage to the pump may be severe and for sure has contaminated the fluid.

Yeah I hear you there I'm the same way but trying to explain that to my wife is another story

Sell her car to pay for it!

Yeah that will go over like a screen door in a submarine, planning on pulling it this weekend, what is the tell tale sign.

Pulled trans today looks like front seal how hard is the trans to go through but question what would cause the seal to blow like that cause it doesn't look old it looks like it built up to much pressure and blew

Oooops missed that in your last post thanks

No sweat, that thread is pretty much the break-down on the front seal blow-out.

If you still need/want an engine, I have a running motor in a 1993 non-egr (still in parts car with ecm too) I will sell to you. I was going to keep it as a spare motor but I would rather have cash right now.
