Need Help installing stereo in 98 explorer xlt

Hello,
I have an 98 explorer xlt. I need help removing the factory cd player and installing a pioneer cd player. I am new to this so as much help as possible would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site, I'd suggest going to www.crutchfield.com and getting the factory radio removal tool in additional to the wiring harness & install kit that has the spacer for the DIN unit radio.

Thats pretty much the jist of it.

One thing that was missed in that write up, when you get your wiring harness (which you should), the 98 XLT's have a amp some were in the truck so make sure you hook up the blue wires on the harness the to wires on the after market deck. If you fail to do so the amp will not turn on and you will get no sound.
