Ok I just cleaned out the PCV valve on myh 2004 Explorer XLT 4.0L the other day. All I had was throttle body cleaner so I used that thinking it would be fine. It took me a week to find the valve. When I finally found it I was having trouble getting the valve off so I was prying and wiggling it with pliers. I finally figured out how to get it out, sprayed it out good with the throttle body cleaner blew threw it and all that and put it back in. I then started it and it seemed fine. A few hours later my wife went to go somewhere and the neginge was rattling VERY loudly. I can get a new valve tommorrow but not til I get off of work but my wife needs the car to drop kids off at school. The only I can think is that the valve is not airtight anymore from prying on it. I tried to wrap electrical tape around it and screw it back in. It seems pretty tight but still doing the same thing. Any ideas?
