ok heres whats going on. im in school right now, my lights in my 99 xlt are on, the truck is locked and my battery is so low from leaving the lights on that i can not open the truck, the key wont work for some reason and neither will my remote or the door pad. i know there is a way to unlock it from the back hatch but i cant find the thread that says how to do it. if anybody has any ideas or can give me the thread i would really appreciate it. keep in mind im in school right now and im missing class to do this so the faster the better. thanks

The key wont work both at the driver's door and the rear hatch?

Try the key in the rear window button? Mine hangs up and I thought it didn't work also, When ScottB told me to try it the other day. Right off it felt like no go, however, if you calm down and "jiggle it" a bit , by golly it did!

Lol what a great way to break into someones X!

Odd...

On Crownvic.net there's a thread about people breaking into Vic trunks by smashing the passenger side reverse light.

And yes, insert the key and jiggle the lock back and forth. Don't use a lot of force; a gentle back-and-forth motion is all that's needed and it'll turn.

i feel like an idiot but i didnt even think of trying the key on the back hatch! my friend figured it out after we took advantage of our time out of school to smoke a few cigarettes and stare at my truck while we made a game plan lol. and i would LOVE to see what rego said that got edited, somebody hook me up please
