96 V8 had coolant leak behind the timing cover.
The fel-pro instructions are not clear regarding the gasket installation.
They say to cut off the pieces of oil pan gasket and replace them with the cork segments and to replace the curved molded silicone piece. Should these be glued to the oil pan or the timing cover?
It seems that the molded silicone piece fits in a groove at the bottom of the timing cover so it makes sense to glue it to that rather than the oil pan but I am not sure about the cork segements.
Anyone done this that might be able to offer some advice?
Thanks, this is a great site.
