Need help with 4x4!!!!

Help! It's winter in Chicago, and I need my 4x4! Ok, I have a 94 explorer sport. When I hit the 4x4 button, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.If I hit it enough times,usually it comes on. And then it runs perfectly! Once I turned it off, but I swear it felt a little like it was still on. Also, once the low drive light next to button came on, but it didn't engage or light up on dash. My 4x4 works fine, when I can get it to engage. Do I have a wiring problem?

Also, I know about that "glue" site and doesn't work anymore, so I'm running out of options!

most likely the shift motor - try doing a search and you should the info on how to remove and clean the motor
