need mass airflow sensor help

I have a 1991 ford explorer with a 4.0l v6 and it wont stay running with a new maf connected. Once i disconnect the maf it runs fine. How can i make it run with a maf connected. Somebody please help.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes, then re-connecting it? This will reset the computer, forcing it to learn everything new. Good luck with it!

different MAF sensor?

Did you happen to purchase a higher airflow (larger diameter) than stock MAF sensor? If so, then the AFR will be incorrect.

And why did you replace the MAF to begin with?

???? confusing... that's weird.. the check engine should come right on without the MAF connected....
